Writing here makes me think of just how hidden things can be on the Internet. All that discussion of Internet privacy is fine, and I'm all for it, but my god! The warrens of this place! I have a date with destiny and one day my blog will be a treasured cultural artifact. All its madness and wisdom and shortcomings and easter eggs will be plucked from the soil and minutely examined. But if that doesn't happen because of an accident of awesome statistical likelihood, then I have a few words for whoever finds this comment underneath an adjunct joke post to my real blog. The Internet is a Gigantic freeway, and you have stumbled so far from it that we are using candles here. Our windows are made out of newspaper! And yet back behind our chicken hutch is a tiny alley that branches into progressively tinier alleys, things no keyword search could ever suss out. The Internet bleeds out into nothingness. This, here, is a sign I have put up. It says "From here on outward you are in the realm where nothing and something mingle, and get hard to tell apart"
ReplyDeleteYou will not be able to find any road further on from here and so we both must go back.
